Abstract
Researching indicators of climate change and desertification impacts on land use change in Binhthuan, a southern poor province in Vietnam was important. By systematic, ecological, and community approach, the authors used the quantitative methods (Aqua Crop, ETo and Rainbow model, GIS & Remote Sensing, analyzing changing statistic) and the qualitative one (field trips, interview community, analyzing and summarizing material) to find the pros and cons indicators. The positive ones for the impacts on land use change is that appearance many plants adapting with desertification and new climate like: dragon fruite, grape, cassava, cotton, cashew, annual trees; appearance many livestock farm adapting with desertification and new climate such as raising salamander in sand desert, raising goat in stone desert. In addition, the negative indicators of the impacts on land use change like: unstable change areas of rice, grass field, especially, disappearance of hilly rice. With the results, researcher and manager will be able to make many adapting and mitigating strategies for sustainable development of this province.
