Abstract

VNREDSat-1, the 1st Vietnam’s remote sensing system, has been operating effectively since 2013. So far, the system has provided thousands of image scenes, which serve the needs of monitoring of natural resources, environment and natural disasters, and satisfying the require-ments for national security and defense purposes, and international cooperation as well. However, the VNREDSat-1 is a closed Europe-designed system, so the management, operation and exploitation process must be optimized to adapt with the local conditions in Vietnam. This paper will summarize the operation and exploitation activities of the VNREDSat-1 system, and propose solutions to improve its capacity and efficiency in data provision.m
