Abstract

Regularization, a way to stabilize the solution of normal equations, is an important issue when solving ill-conditioned systems that often occur in geodetic computations. In this paper, some regularization solutions such as GBE, L-curve, Quasi-solution, Discrepancy Principle, GCV, and Quasi-optimality will be introduced and investigated in the context of the problem of processing geopotentila data. The experimental results show the effectiveness of regularization when reducing the output error from 1.55 m (without regularization) to 0.05 m, equivalent to the input error level
